Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Aman completes the work = 24 days
Mohit completes the work = 32 days
Total amount paid to them = Rs 4800
No. of days Aman and Mohit worked together = 8 days
Concept:
Wage is directly proportional to the amount of work done. Using efficiency and no. of working days, calculate the work done. Then calculate the amount received.
Formula used:
1 day’s work = 1/(Total days taken to complete the work)
Calculation:
Aman’s 1 day work = 1/24
Mohits 1 day work = 1/32
∵ they worked for 8 days together
∴ 8 days work of Aman = 8/24 = 1/3 ------(1)
8 days work of Mohit = 8/32 = 1/4
Work done by them together = 1/3 + 1/4
= (4 + 3)/12
= 7/12
Unit of remaining work done by Aman = 1 – 7/12
= (12 – 7)/12
= 5/12 ------(2)
From (1) and (2);
Total work done by Aman = 1/3 + 5/12
= 4/12 + 5/12
= 9/12
= 3/4
∴ Amount of Money Aman will get = 4800 × 3/4
= 3600/-
