Concept used:

20% discount means MP : SP = 5 : 4

10% discount means MP : SP = 10 : 9

5% discount means MP : SP = 20 : 19

Calculation:

  MP SP
1st discount 5 4
2nd discount 10 9
3rd discount 20 19
Net 1000 684

So, the equivalent discount = (1000 - 684)/1000 × 100 = 316/10 = 31.6%

∴ The correct answer is 31.6%
