UGC NET Result 2025 for the December 2024 cycle has been released @ ugcnet.nta.ac.in. In the recent UGC NET examination, a total of 8,49,166 candidates registered, out of which 6,49,490 appeared for the exam. Among them, 5,158 candidates qualified for both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor positions. Additionally, 48,161 candidates qualified for Assistant Professor roles and admission to Ph.D. programs, while 1,14,445 candidates secured eligibility for Ph.D. admission only. The UGC NET 2025 exam was conducted from January 3 to January 27 for 85+ subjects across various exam centres throughout the country. Candidates who have appeared for the December Session of the UGC NET 2024 can download their Score Cards from the official website of NTA @nta.ugc.net.ac.in.
The candidates can check their UGC NET result 2025 on the official website of UGC NET @ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The candidates can also follow the steps given below to check and save their results. Alternatively, use the direct link provided below to check and download your UGC NET December result -
Step 1: Visit the official website of NTA to check your result.
Step 2: You can find a link to the NTA UGC NET result at the bottom of the homepage.
Step 3: Click on that link. The screen will then show a fresh page.
Step 4: Please enter your UGC NET registration form number, password, and birth date.
Step 5: The UGC NET score for will then be shown on the screen.
Step 6: Take copies of the UGC NET results for later use.
The NTA was released the UGC NET Answer key 2025 earlier on its official website now the national Testing Agency is set to announce the UGC NET December result soon. UGC NET result 2025 will indicate the marks scored by you in the overall paper as well as in Paper 1 and Paper II individually. It will also indicate whether you have qualified for JRF/Assistant Professor/both posts depending on which posts you had opted for the marks obtained. In order to determine the marks secured by the candidates in the UGC NET, a method of normalization has to be followed. The actual marks secured by the applicant in various shifts will be converted by NTA to the UGC NET Score (percentile).
If the examination is held in two shifts and 40% marks correspond to a percentile score of 74 in Shift 1 and 76 in Shift 2, then all those equal to or above 76 percentiles (Percentile score of 100 to 76) in both shifts will become eligible in the general category. The calculation of scores will be done for the reserved category in a similar manner.
With an idea of the cutoffs of last year, aspirants can boost their preparation by keeping these numbers in mind and making strategies for the examination accordingly. It shall give them a fair idea of how they should ideally be scoring in order to clear the examination.

Check UGC NET Certificate Validity from here
After the UGC NET results are released, NTA will give e-certificates and JRF award letters to all applicants who passed the exam. Following that, all qualified individuals would be eligible to apply for Assistant Professor positions in Indian universities and colleges. Candidates who pass the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) exam will also be permitted to do research in their chosen field.
The certificate of eligibility for the UGC NET will be valid for life. The UGC NET JRF award letter, on the other hand, will be valid for three years from the date of its issuance.
