The correct answer is option 1):(more than 1)

Concept:

  • Making capacity of a circuit breaker is the maximum current which the breaker can conduct at the instant of closing. The making capacity is considered to be the peak value of the first cycle when there is an imaginary short circuit between the phases.
  • The rated breaking capacity is the maximum fault current a circuit breaker can successfully interrupt without being damaged. These are very high currents of extremely low probability. In normal circumstances, the fault currents are considerably less than those of the circuit breaker
  • Making current = 2.55 x Symmetrical breaking current
  • The ratio of making to breaking capacity for an extra high voltage circuit breaker is more than 1
