As per the Government of Tamil Nadu’s permit, Anna University, Chennai conducts the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET). The University selects candidates through a single window registration for the MCA, MBA, MTech, ME, March, and MPlan courses. The candidates are selected to the University Departments/ Regional Campuses/ Constituent Colleges of Anna University, Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Government and Government Aided Colleges, and Self-financing Colleges (for the seats surrendered by them for the single window counselling). This is a state-level examination conducted to fill seats in the PG programmes across more than 200 colleges in Tamil Nadu.
Candidates who wish to apply for the TANCET Exam must do so online from 24 January to 28 February, 2025. The detailed process to fill out the TANCET Application Form is explained below.
Go to the official website of the Anna University. Click the link to register for the TANCET 2025 Exam. Enter the required details and complete the registration.
Log in to the Admission Portal with the credentials provided during registration. Fill out all the required details carefully and correctly.
Upload your passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
Pay the required Application Fee through any of the provided Payment Gateways. If the candidate wishes to appear for more than one program, he/she/they have to pay Rs. 600 ( Rs. 300 for reserved candidates) for every additional program. Double-check all the information and submit the form. Save a copy of the same for reference.
All the candidates are required to pay an application fee. Without the payment of the application fee, the application process won’t be considered complete. The application fee to be paid by the candidate is as follows:

Anna University has identified discrepancies in certain TANCET 2025 applications. The TANCET Reject List PDF containing a list of candidates with erroneous data has been released on the official website @tancet.annauniv.edu. Applicants are advised to log in to the official TANCET portal to rectify these errors as soon as possible, to avoid potential rejection of their applications. Corrections should be made in accordance with the guidelines provided on the portal. After making the necessary corrections, candidates must send a confirmation email to [email protected]. Failure to correct application errors before the stipulated deadline may lead to rejection of the application, thereby disqualifying candidates from appearing in the TANCET/CEETA PG 2025 examination.
Candidates applying for the TANCET Exam must fulfil certain eligibility requirements in terms of their age limit, educational qualification, nationality, etc. A brief overview of the TANCET eligibility is given below:
The eligibility criteria for various courses under TANCET 2025 require candidates to meet specific educational qualifications. For M.B.A., candidates must have a recognized Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks (45% for certain reserved categories). For M.C.A., candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree in B.C.A. or related fields, with Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level. For M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan., a relevant Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks is required. Specific relaxations are provided for reserved category candidates from Tamil Nadu. There is no age limit to appear for this examination.
All the candidates should register through the Online Admission Portal and clear the TANCET Exam as the first step in their selection process. A candidate with a reasonable GATE Score can also register for admission without writing the TANCET. A merit list will be prepared as per these scores for each course programme listed. Then the candidates should register for the counselling process online and fill in their preferred choices in case of the institutes. The candidates then will have to be present at the counselling process conducted at Anna University for document verification. As per this, they will be allotted a seat. The candidates can fix their allotted seat by paying the admission fee to the institute directed.
The TANCET Score is accepted by various universities and institutes in the state of Tamil Nadu, to shortlist candidates for admission to various Management Programmes at postgraduate programmes.

The TANCET admit card will be released on the university's website from 7th March, 2025 onwards. Candidates can download their TANCET 2025 Hall Tickets from the official website @tancet.annauniv.edu by logging in with their application number and password. The TANCET Cut Off is released on the university's website in a few days after the examination. The cut off plays a crucial role in determining the selection of candidates for the further admission process. The cut off is released category and institution-wise. The TANCET cut off varies each year depending on factors like number of candidates appearing for the exam, difficulty level of the paper, number of seats available, etc.
The TANCET Final Answer Key has been released on 17th April,2025. The answer key serves as a tool for the candidates to verify their responses and estimate their scores in the exam. The authorities release a provisional and a final answer key. Candidates can raise objection only against the responses in the provisional answer key.
