The AFCAT 2 Notification is out (Advt No. 02/2025) for enrolling candidates into Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. Online applications are also invited for NCC Special Entry Scheme (For flying branch). Candidates can apply online for AFCAT 2026 from 2nd June to 1st July 2025. The Application Link is active on the official website afcat.cdac.in/AFCAT. A total of 284 vacancies have been released for AFCAT 2. The Notification was released on 27th June for the courses commencing in July 2026 for Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducts the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) twice yearly to recruit candidates for various branches.

Earlier, AFCAT 2 Official Notification was released on 27th May 2025 at afcat.cdac.in. A total of 284 vacancies have been announced for both Flying and Ground Duty branches (AFCAT Entry). This notification has been issued for courses commencing in July 2026, providing Short Service Commission (SSC) opportunities in both the Flying Branch and the Ground Duty branches (Technical and Non-Technical). AFCAT 2 Selection Process 2025
The selection process for AFCAT Exam 2025 involves multiple stages to assess a candidate’s mental, physical, and psychological aptitude. Candidates qualifying the AFCAT written exam will receive call letters for AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) testing.
AFSB Testing Stage 1
This is the screening round consisting of the Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test and the Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT). Candidates who fail to clear Stage 1 will not proceed to Stage 2.
AFSB Testing Stage 2
Qualified candidates from Stage 1 will undergo psychological testing, group tasks, and a personal interview to evaluate leadership, communication, and psychological fitness. Additionally, candidates applying for the Flying Branch must take the Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) test, which assesses their suitability to become pilots.
Medical Examination
