CTET Notification 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will upload the detailed notification and activate the registration link for the CTET for the July Session at www.ctet.nic.in. CTET full form is the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. The notification is expected to be released this week. However, the officials have not announced the notification date. What is the CTET Exam?

It is a nationwide test conducted to determine the eligibility of prospective teachers. The exam is conducted twice every year for eligible applicants. 

  • The CTET is an offline examination. A candidate is required to obtain a minimum of 60% to qualify for the exam.
  • Candidates qualified in the exam can apply for teaching posts in government schools. They will have to undergo the selection process as specified by the respective school before being shortlisted for the appointment.
  • There are two papers in the offline examination, and each paper will be 150 marks. Candidates can attempt either Paper I (for teaching classes 1-5) or Paper II (for classes 6-8) or both papers.

How to Apply Online for CTET Exam 2025

You can only apply by filling out the CTET Application Form online. The application process is likely to commence in May. The aspirants need to complete the online application process well in time before the specified deadline. The steps to complete the application process are given below.

Step 1: Visit the CTET Official Website

To initiate the application process in 2025, students need to go to the main official website of CTET. The main website provides a central point for all notifications, updates, and application work. Ensure that the internet connection is stable to avoid any interruption and search for homepage design so that navigation to various sections can be done easily.

Step 2: Apply for CTET July 2025

Open the homepage, navigate to the section titled 'Candidate Activity', and you will find the link 'Apply for CTET July 2025'. Click the link and proceed to fill in the application form. The instructions and guidelines given there should be read very carefully, as they are rich in important information about the procedure and the deadline.

Step 3: New Registration

If you are a new user, you have to click on 'New Registration' to register yourself. Fill up the required details such as full name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID. Set a strong password for your account. After this, a unique registration number will be generated. Remember that number and use it at every login and communication process.

Step 4: Online Application Form

Enter your password and registration number to gain access to your account. Go to the web application. Provide all the information you can, including your personal data, school background, work history, and preferred testing site. Double-check every entry because any mistakes could result in the application being denied or causing issues later.

Step 5: Uploading Documents

Scan and upload your latest passport-size photograph and signature as per the dimensions and format specified in the guidelines. The photograph should be clear and against a light background. The signature should be legible. If you face issues in resizing the images, use the Testbook Photo & Signature Resize Tool or any similar resizing application that does not degrade the quality.

Step 6: Pay the Examination Fee

After filling out the form, move on to the payment of the examination fee. The payment for the fee can be done using more than one mode, such as e-challan, debit card, credit card, or net banking. Choose the best suitable mode and complete the transaction. Keep a record of the receipt or the transaction ID. The fee will be different based on the category and number of papers to be applied (Paper I, Paper II, or both).

Step 7: Print Confirmation Page

After confirmation of your payment, the application form would be submitted. Download and print the confirmation page. This page is carrying all the vital information regarding your application. An applicant number will be mentioned there too. Make one physical copy and save a soft copy of the same page, as this page will also come in handy for downloading the admit card and for other stages in the process.

CTET Application Form Correction

After the application process is completed, the authorities allow a window of 3-5 days for application correction. Candidates who have applied for the exam can avail of this facility to make any corrections in the application submitted by them. The application correction facility is online only.

CTET Exam Selection Process

Those who clear the exam will be able to apply for teaching positions in Government Schools across India. The CTET Selection Process allows candidates to choose between Paper I for teaching classes 1-5, Paper II for teaching classes 6-8, or both Papers I & II for teaching classes 1-8, depending on their desired teaching posts. CTET Paper I (Class 1-5)

The Paper I is designed for candidates aspiring to teach classes 1 through 5. Successful candidates can apply for teaching positions in Government Schools for these early grades, where the focus is on foundational teaching skills and basic educational concepts.

CTET Paper II (Class 1-8)

The Paper II is intended for candidates who wish to teach classes 6 through 8. This paper evaluates the candidate's proficiency in subject-specific content and teaching methodologies suitable for upper primary education. By clearing this paper, candidates become eligible to apply for teaching roles in Government Schools for these intermediate grades, focusing on more advanced educational techniques and subject matter expertise.

CTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for the exam, candidates must fulfil the CTET eligibility criteria as specified by the authorities, The eligibility criteria consist of educational qualifications, age, etc. Any candidate that does not match up with the set criteria will be disqualified.

Eligibility for CTET Paper I 

There is no age limit for this exam. Candidates who have passed the senior secondary exam with at least 50% marks a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education can appear for Paper I.

Eligibility for CTET Paper II

Candidates who have completed a graduation degree along with a B.Ed qualification can appear for Paper II. There is no age limit for the exam.

CTET Certification 2025 Details

The CTET Certificate applies to schools operated by the Central Government and Union Territories, including institutions like KVS and NVS. It may also be considered by unaided private schools and state government schools if the state decides not to conduct its own TET.

  • For Central Government Schools: The certificate is eligible for Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UTs of Chandigarh and NCT of Delhi. A candidate aspiring to clear the KVS TGT and KVS Primary Teachers must meet the eligibility criteria defined by Sangathan.
  • For NVS School: Aspirants wishing to clear the NVS TGT and the NVS TGT in Third Language exams must have all the minimum qualifications defined by the selection committee. For both NVS exams, the qualifications are graduation in any discipline along with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and CTET qualification.
  • For Private Schools: CTET may also apply to unaided private schools, which may exercise the option of considering the CTET. 
  • For State Government Schools: Schools owned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET.

CTET Certificate Validity Period 2025

The CTET Certificate is valid for a lifetime, providing candidates with enduring recognition of their teaching qualifications. There is no limit on the number of attempts a candidate can make, allowing individuals to retake the exam to improve their scores and enhance their eligibility for teaching positions.
