TNPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Exam Eligibility Criteria 2025
To be eligible for the TNPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor post the candidates must fulfill the given requirements of eligibility :

Note: “No maximum age limit” means candidates must not have completed 60 years of age on 01.07.2024 or at the time of appointment.
TNPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Eligibility: Educational Qualification
For applying for the position of TNPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor the candidates must fulfill all eligibility requirements given by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) and have the educational credentials properly specified. These are properly given below :

Bar Enrollment | Must be enrolled as an Advocate in the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu or any other State |
Experience | Minimum 5 years of active practice in Criminal Courts |
Tamil Proficiency | Must have studied Tamil in SSLC or passed Second Class Tamil Language Test by TNPSC |
Note: Practice as a Temporary Assistant Public Prosecutor is counted toward experience.

- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
Number of Attempts
- There is no restriction on the no. of attempts.
- Candidates must fulfill the age and qualification standards each time whenever they apply.
TNPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Exam Experience Requirement
- Must have minimum 5 years of active practice in criminal courts as an Advocate.
- Practice Certificate must be issued by:
- Public Prosecutor, High Court of Madras
- Additional/District/Special Public Prosecutors
- Senior Advocates designated by the High Court of Madras
Note: Courts include High Courts, Sessions Courts, Judicial Magistrate Courts (First and Second Class) and Executive Magistrates.
