According to the official notification, pupils believe that the CUET will make it harder for them to apply for streams other than those that they are studying currently in class 12th. Students believe that they will be unable to advance in subjects other than those covered in class 12th, forcing them into degree programs in which they are uninterested.
Many students have used social media to raise awareness about these issues. This situation varies from University to University because each one of them has set its norms under the prescribed format. For example, the University of Delhi has set the norm that a candidate must appear in CUET in only those subjects in which he/she has cleared Class 12, while some other universities may not follow this. Hence the candidates are required to check their prescribed universities for a better understanding.
