Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
The ratio between the number of males and females = 25: 26
Percentage of males increased = 20%
Percentage of females increased = 30%
Calculation:
Let the number of males = 25x
The number of females = 26x
According to the question
Increased number of males
= 25x × 120/100
= 30x
Increased number of Females
= 26x × 130/100
= 33.8x
New ratio of males and females
= 30x : 33.8x
= 30: 33.8
= 300: 338
= 150: 169
∴ The new ratio of males and females in the college is 150:169.
