The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is a test centre-based examination of 3 hours duration. The IIT Bombay released the UCEED Exam Syllabus, details of which are available in totality in the following article. Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is conducted by IIT Bombay under the guidance of the UCEED-CEED Implementation Committee every year for admitting candidates to the Bachelor of Design (BDes) program at participating colleges. Merely appearing for the UCEED exam or securing a spot in the UCEED rank list does not guarantee admission to BDes programs.
- Candidates who qualify for the UCEED exam need to separately apply for admission as per the procedure prescribed by IIT Bombay.
- Admission to B.Des courses is done based on merit in each category. The merit list is prepared based on the scores obtained by candidates in the written entrance exam.
- The candidate must prepare according to the UCEED 2022 Syllabus for better results. The candidate who wants to get admitted into B.Des that are offered by UCEED must clear the exam by scoring more than the minimum UCEED cut off marks.

UCEED 2022 Syllabus
The UCEED 2022 Syllabus comprises topics related to drawing products, scenes, objects in proportion with good line quality, perspective, composition, proportion as well as shading. The UCEED 2022 Exam is divided into two parts. They are Part A and Part B. The syllabus for Part A and Part B vary accordingly which are as follows.

UCEED 2022 Syllabus Part A
IIT Bombay shares broad guidelines regarding the syllabus for Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design. UCEED 2022 will have questions from six topics. UCEED syllabus 2022 is mentioned below:
Part-A will have questions from the following topics:

| 03 | Environmental and social awareness | General awareness of environmental factors such as climate, population, water, vegetation, pollution, weather, natural resources, etc., and their implications on the design of products, images, infrastructure, and environment. Awareness of social and cultural connection with the design, history of the designed artifact, and socially responsible and environmentally sustainable design responses. History of art, sculpture, and literature. |
| 04 | Analytical and logical reasoning | Ability to look at information, whether qualitative or quantitative, and discern patterns within the information. Ability to weigh opinions, arguments, or solutions against appropriate criteria. Ability to check for hidden bias or hidden assumptions and whether evidence and argument support conclusions. |

UCEED 2022 Syllabus Part B
Part B of the UCEED Exam comprises a drawing question that aspirants need to attempt on an answer sheet provided to them in their exam hall. This drawing question evaluates candidates based on their understanding of proportion, perspective, shading, and composition. Part-B will have ONE question on the following topic:

UCEED 2022 Section-wise Marks Weightage
The UCEED Exam aims at checking the analytical and numerical ability of a candidate, apart from drawing skills. UCEED 2022 Question Paper would be Objective-based and of 3 hours duration. The paper would be in English and would consist of two parts - Part A and Part B, both parts being compulsory. Part A would be computer-based, containing MCQ, MSQ, and NAT type Questions and Part B would be pen and paper-based to test the drawing skills of the candidate.

UCEED 2022 Preparation Strategy
IIT Bombay will conduct the UCEED 2022 exam on January 23. Candidates need to attempt 68 questions in 2:30 hours on the day of the UCEED exam. Candidates can crack UCEED 2022 if they are well-acquainted with different design elements and also have adequate knowledge of current affairs and GK.
While preparing for the exam, aspirants are advised to go through past years’ UCEED question papers for it. Apart from this, candidates should also go through sample papers and mock tests for UCEED 2022 preparation. This would prove beneficial in helping students understand the type of questions asked in the UCEED exam as well as provide them an insight on how to formulate their time management strategy.
