Given

A and B together can do a piece of work in 20 days.

A alone can do the same work in 30 days.

Formula used:

Work = Efficiency × Time

Calculation

A and B together can do a piece of work in 20 days

Part of work A and B can do in 1 day = 1/20

A alone can do the work in 30 days

Part of work A can do in 1 day = 1/30

∴ Part of work B alone can do in a day = 1/20 - 1/30 = 1/60

∴ B alone can do the work in 60 days
