Given:

Circumference of the circle = 33 cm

Concept used:

The circumference of a circle = 2πr, 

where "r" is the radius of the circle.

The area of a circle = πr2

Calculation:

C = 2πr

⇒ 33 = 2πr

⇒ r = \(\dfrac{21}{4}\)

⇒ Area = π × \(\dfrac{21}{4}^2\)

⇒ Area = \(\dfrac{22 \times 21 \times 21}{7 \times 4 \times 4}\) = \(\dfrac{693}{8}\)

∴ The area of the circle is \(\dfrac{693}{8} \) cm2.
