Let, the previous budget was Rs 100.
As it increased by 25%, it became Rs125
Since the family has to maintain the previous budget.
⇒ Rs 125 should be reduced to Rs 100
⇒ Rs 1 should be reduced to Rs 100/125
⇒ Rs 100 should be reduced to Rs (100/125) × 100 = Rs 80
⇒ (100- 80 ) = 20%
