वायु में नमी के कारण एल्युमीनियम फिन पर जंग लग सकती है, इसके निवारण के लिए जब इकाई का रखरखाव हो रहा होता है, तब इसे संक्षारण विरोधी रसायन को छिड़ककर साफ़ किया जा सकता है।
साथ ही, चूँकि फिन छोटे अंतराल में व्यवस्थित होते हैं, तो वायु में रहे धूल के कण फिन पर जमा हो जाते हैं और संघनित्र के माध्यम से वायु प्रवाह को प्रभावित करते हैं। इसे वायु ब्लोअर के दबाव द्वारा साफ़ किया जा सकता है।
