Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven : 21st March 2021 was a Sunday.
- Total number of days in a normal year = 365
- Number of odd days in a normal year = 365/7 = 1
- Total number of days in a leap year = 366
- Number of odd days in a leap year = 366/7 = 2
- Total number of days from 21st March 2021 to 12th January 2022 = 10(March) + 30(April) + 31(May) + 30(June) + 31(July) + 31(August) + 30(September) + 31(October) + 30(November) + 31(December) + 12(January) = 297
- Since, it was Sunday on 21st March 2021, every 7th day from 21st March will be a Sunday.
- Thus, no. of odd days from 21st March 2021 to 12th January 2022 = 297/7 = 3
- Now, 21st March 2021 + 3 odd days = 12th January 2022 ( Wednesday)
- Thus, 12th January 2022 will be Wednesday.
Hence, "option 1" is the correct answer.
